For trained sport, fitness and recreation professionals the employment opportunities are varied and exciting. Possible job opportunities can include: The Diploma in Recreation and Sport is a one year full-time, or equivalent part-time, programme which offers you stimulating studies and provides a pathway to a career in the wide field of recreation, sport and leisure. This programme has close links with the Bachelor of Recreation and Sport, which integrates knowledge of the structure and function of the human body, planning and organisation of active recreation, sport and fitness programmes for individuals and groups and the practical application of skills enabling graduates to pursue a professional career in the sport and fitness industries. EIT in conjunction with Sport HB, and the NZ Academy of Sport is proud to offer the Elite Sportsperson Scholarship. The scholarship is for top performing athletes who have been nominated by their sporting code or club. There are seven scholarships each valued up to $2,500 per year for payment of programme fees for a full-time programme. For a brochure and an application form phone EIT Infoline 0800 CALL EIT (22 55 348).  |  | NZ Citizens/Residents |  |  | Standard Entry:- Sixth Form Certificate in 4 subjects, including English, with a total of 16 marks or less, or sixty (60) NCEA credits at level 2 in one year,
- or successful completion of the EIT Certificate in Sport and Health Massage, or the Foundations Certificate for Nursing, Recreation and Sport Science, or
- other special programme which brings people up to the required academic standard, or
- Completion of a local or overseas qualification which is considered by the Admissions Committee to be the equivalent of one of the above qualifications.
Provisional Admission: Notwithstanding the above admission requirements, an applicant who can show evidence of the ability to successfully achieve in the programme may be considered for admission, provided: In the opinion of the Admissions committee the applicant has a good chance of achieving a clearly measurable benefit from the proposed course of study, and the applicant will not place an unreasonable burden on the teaching staff and/or other learners.
