- A deep understanding of the principles of Hakomi Integrative Psychology, and the ability to work with these in psychotherapy practice.
- An understanding of the maps of character, and therapeutic processes, and skill in the use of the Hakomi method of psychotherapy.
- The opportunity to explore ones own personality and self-organisation, this being an essential factor in developing the personal qualities necessary for safe and effective psychotherapy practice.
Following graduation in this Diploma it is possible to seek certification as a certified Hakomi psychotherapist through the Hakomi Institute in the United States . As Hakomi is a specialist method of psychotherapy, and not a complete psychotherapy training, students will need additional or preparatory foundation training and experience in psychotherapy in order to safely practise as a psychotherapist. Graduates, with appropriate psychotherapy or counselling training and experience, alongside their Hakomi training, will be able to seek work in areas of mental health, counselling settings and community work and prepare themselves for admittance to professional associations. Private practice opportunities are available once therapists have gained sufficient experience. For more information and/or to download a Hakomi brochure click here
The programme is intensive and experiential with a high level of tutor support. It is designed to develop students' knowledge and skills in three areas: - Understanding and practice of the Hakomi principles of mindfulness, organicity, non-violence, unity and mind-body holism
- Training in the skills of the Hakomi method
- Development of the personal attributes that allow one to practice skilfully as a Hakomi psychotherapist, including self awareness, loving presence, empathy, curiosity and attentiveness.

The programme has an intake in February once every three years, i.e. at the completion of each three year cycle. The next intake for this programme will be in February 2009
This is a three year part-time programme offered in nine modules. Three nine day modules are delivered every year for three years. Students practise in study groups between the blocks.
