Graduate: New Zealand Diploma in Business
Hi, I am Ruchita Bhatia from India.
EIT has a beautiful campus and the environment here is lovely. It is very calm and quiet which is perfect for studies.
Tutors are very helpful and have a vast knowledge of their subject. I can just knock on their door anytime to ask for their help. They are always ready to assist me. High technology equipment is used to aid study in the classes.
From time to time, seminars are held at EIT to guide students in terms of future job prospects. The learning skills centre team at EIT provides assistance to students regarding assignments and examination patterns.
The Kiwi students are very friendly and I have learnt a lot about the NZ culture from them. Apart from that I have made friends with students from other countries.
During my time of study, I was able to get a job and worked full-time in a reputed store over my summer break. Now I have a job in a chartered accountancy firm and when I have finished my diploma I will continue working full time with this firm.
Being at EIT is the biggest opportunity I have had and I am enjoying every bit of it. So come in and join me to live your dreams.
Gagandeep Kaur Sekhon, Chandigarh, India

Studying: Bachelor of Nursing
Hi, my name is Gagan and I come from Chandigarh. I’m currently in my 2nd year of Nursing studies at EIT, Hawkes Bay and enjoying every minute of it.
Studying at EIT is an experience in itself. The student community is very friendly and there is an interesting mix from various countries. I’ve made some great friends.
The best thing about studying at EIT is that the lecturers are very approachable and always willing to take that extra step to help you. In fact the support system on campus is incredible!
Fun events, sports outings and barbeques are regular features on the campus. Student life is fun. Add to this the natural beauty of this place with its deep blue skies, lush green countryside of vineyards and orchards, the amazing sea never far from the horizon and you’ve got an incredible combination.
Studying in New Zealand has been a huge learning curve for me and I’ve never once regretted my decision to come to EIT.
Eun Hee Kim - From Kang Lung, Korea

September 2004
Studying: Introduction to Hospitality CertificateHello! My name is Eun Hee but everybody calls me EU because it´s easier to remember. I have been in New Zealand for about two and a half years. I came to EIT in January 2003, after studying in Auckland. Because there are less Koreans in Napier than in Auckland, my English actually improved after I moved.
The Speech Board exam was a great experience for me; it helped with my public speaking and pronunciation. I started the Certificate in Tourism and Travel at the beginning of this year. I really enjoy my course. Its a lot of fun. My tutors are very kind and friendly, and help with everything including study, visa and personal problems. I also have lovely classmates.
Next year I intend continuing my study at EIT with the Diploma in Tourism and Travel course.
Jia Song - From Jiang Xi, China

March 2005
Graduate: Bachelor of Business StudiesMy name is Jia Song. I am a graduate of Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT).
At EIT, I learnt English until 2000, and then continued studying in the Business Faculty, finishing my degree in 2004. I feel proud that I am the first Chinese graduate student of the Bachelor of Business Studies at EIT. I have been in Napier for four years. It has been strongly impressed on my memory. Napier is a beautiful seaside city with wonderful weather, delicious fruit, and excellent wine. It is called as the Fruit Bowl in New Zealand. Most residents are European which provides a good language environment for English speaking.
Eastern Institute of Technology is a famous national college which focuses its education on practice and innovation. The tutors are very professional and experienced. They are not only helpful in class, but also kind to give assistance as much as possible even after class. I thank my tutors for teaching me and supporting me to complete my degree.
Ratchneewan Buranabanyat - From Thailand

Studying: Bachelor of Visual Art & Design
Hi! I'm June from Thailand. I'm studying the Bachelor of Visual Art & Design and my major is Electronic Media. The reason I chose to study at EIT is because I heard that the Visual Art course at EIT is one of the most popular in New Zealand. I really know that I made the right choice. I'm so delighted to be here! I know sometimes you might be homesick when you're away from home but I feel EIT is my second home.
EIT has a beautiful campus with a large Library and they upgrade their equipment always. On the other hand if you worry about when you have a problem like who will help you? What should you do? I can just say forget about it because the International Centre staff will help you or the Learning Skills Centre can provide support for your study. Everyone is generous with help.
This opportunity was a big change for me but it was a change for the better.
Sompon Kasemwattanakul (Paul) - From Thailand

Graduate: Bachelor of Computing Systems
I have been studying in New Zealand almost 4 years. I began by learning English and now, I am studying the Bachelor of Computing Systems at Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) in Hawkes Bay. The reasons I decided to come here are: firstly, many people told me New Zealand is a beautiful and calm country, and it's not crowded. Secondly, I think the standard of education is as high as England's, Australia's and America's. Finally, I think New Zealand life is very safe.
I chose to live in a homestay because it helps me enjoy New Zealand life style and its culture. My homestay is The Pritchard family. This family is lovely, kind and warm. Although they have a lot of work to do, they always take their time with me after their work. Moreover, almost every night, we join in cooking dinner- Thai food and Kiwi food. The friendship and warmth I get from my homestay and my kiwi friends has helped me to overcome homesickness and now New Zealand is my second home.
In the future, if I graduate, I dream to come back to New Zealand again because I need to revisit the great experience that I had here.
Wu Zheng - From Beijing, China

Studying: Bachelor of Nursing
Hello, my name is Rita Wu.
I have already finished the Foundation Certificate for Nursing Recreation and Sport Science last semester. Now I am studying the Bachelor of Nursing at EIT. I have been in Napier for over one year. I spent half a year studying General English and another half a year studying Foundation of Nursing.
I chose to study at EIT after I passed General English because of the lovely weather and beautiful EIT campus. I thought that EIT is a really good place to study for English and Bachelor of Nursing. The facilities and tutors at EIT are excellent. Every tutor is very kind and friendly, when we have any problems. They helped me a lot when I was having problems with my English, study, assignments and about my home stay as well. EIT provides a Learning Skill Centre for all international students,
which is an important thing when they are faced with study and assignment problems. The tutors will teach you face to face and check your English. You can make an appointment with them anytime whenever you need it.
I feel comfortable and happy staying in Napier and EIT. In particular, Napier is more than I had expected, because Napier is an Art Deco City in New Zealand, which is an absolutely beautiful and peaceful place in this world. Especially the wonderful natural environment, the sunshine and the beach. I enjoy staying here very much. I can tell you that it is an
exciting experience for you to study at EIT, and make your dreams come true.
Vu Le Quoc Hung (Ken) - From Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Graduated: Bachelor of Computing Systems
Hi, my name is Vu Le Quoc Hung, but when I came to New Zealand, my friends called me Ken.
I have been here about three and a half years and now I have completed the Bachelor of Computing Systems degree (BCS), at Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT). I spent five and a half months learning English and also preparing for the IELTS exam. It was a hard time for me because everything was so new for me. But everything has passed; it was just a matter of time, and now I have adjusted to this life and I have enjoyed studying here very much.
EIT has a lovely campus and a very friendly atmosphere. The Tutors are very helpful and I have a lot of friends who come from different countries.
EIT has just finished the Information Technology Building, which is highly equipped with modern computers, providing the best study environment for computing students. I was lucky to be one of the first students to study there.
EIT was really my right choice and I believe it will also be your wise choice. I?m looking forward to seeing you!
