Science and Technology caters for students interested in a very wide range of skills and vocations. Programmes are constantly being developed to meet both industry needs and the latest requirements of the National Qualifications Framework. This means our students have the best possible chance of future employment and the opportunity to take their studies further.
The level of programmes range from pre-vocational (to help you begin study or make employment choices in Science and Technology), through pre employment programmes for the trade and primary sectors, to Diploma programmes and Degree programmes with an emphasis on combining academic and applied skills.
At degree level two Bachelor degrees and a Graduate Diploma in Oenology and a Graduate Diploma in Viticulture are available. The Bachelor of Viticulture and the Bachelor of Wine Science programmes emphasis the scientific and management aspects of Grapegrowing and Winemaking respectively. Both these Degree programmes involve extensive practical industry based learning which are relevant in the New Zealand wine industry. Students can choose to study these two degrees concurrently. EIT has a conjoint relationship with Charles Sturt University (CSU) in Australia.
You can also select from subject areas ranging from Engineering through Carpentry, Hairdressing, Veterinary Nursing, Rural Studies to Computer Aided Design. The choice is enormous.
