GROWSAFE ®

GROWSAFE ® is a training programme offered to all agrichemical users to assist them in adhering to the Code of Practice for the Management of Agrichemicals. For further information email: elaynev@eit.ac.nz

Food Hygiene

This course meets both the Napier City Council Food Hygiene Training Bylaw and the Hastings District Council Food Safety Bylaw (Levels 1 and 2) requirements and other councils' educational requirements on food safety. For further information, email: elaynev @eit.ac.nz

Tractor Safe

Learn how to handle tractors on flat terrain safely and properly. Also learn about the hazards and dangers involved in the use of tractors. For further information, email: elaynev @eit.ac.nz

Chainsaw Safety

Learn about the safe operation, maintenance and use of chainsaws in a supervised environment. For further information, email: elaynev @eit.ac.nz


Introduction to Wine Appreciation

This eight week course is open to anyone who is interested in wine tasting and appreciation. Sessions include:

  • Sensory Theory and Wine Faults
  • Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon
  • Chardonnay
  • Aromatics, Gewurztraminer, Riesling
  • Cabernet Sauvignon and blend
  • Pinot Noir
  • Dessert Wines
  • Champagne/Sparkling wines, Port
