  • Outline

    This is an advanced qualification for those wishing to work either as a Leading Hand or Supervisor to promote a range of skills required in the construction industry.

    • Explain and implement site safety plans
    • Communicate verbally and in writing as related to a building site
    • Use leadership and conflict resolution skills
    • Display technical skills and knowledge in drawings and specifications, ordering and weatherproofing
    • Display time management skills
    • Demonstrate a knowledge of building regulations

  • Entry

    Applicants most hold either:

    • National Certificate in Carpentry Level 4
    • Trade Certificate in a building or construction trade; OR
    • Completed an approved apprenticeship from the construction industry; OR
    • Be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills as determined by the Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation (BCITO).
