    The Certificate in Health and Fitness is a 17 week full-time, programme which offers you stimulating studies and provides a pathway to a career in the wide field of recreation, sport and leisure. This programme has close links with both the Bachelor and Diploma of Recreation and Sport.  

    In particular, the programme is designed to enable a student to: 

    • integrate knowledge of the structure and function of the human body
    • plan and organise active recreation, sport and fitness programmes
    • apply knowledge of human anatomy to exercise techniques and stretches
    • apply skills in sport and fitness industries

    A personal interview may be part of the application process. 

    Additional Criteria

    • Applicants must have a level of health and abilities commensurate with achieving competencies in the programme.  Applicants are required to complete a health declaration, and further reports may be requested with the consent of the applicant.
    • Applicants whole first language is not English, or who come from a country where the language of instruction in schools is not English, shall provide evidence of passing such tests of English language competence as the Academic Board shall from time to time approve.
