The StudyLink Student Loan Scheme* A StudyLink Student Loan covers the compulsory fees which you must pay to enrol, you may be able to borrow up to $1000 each year for course related costs such as equipment, textbooks and field trips. You may also be eligible to borrow up to $163.38 per week as a full-time student for living costs. There are new criteria for Student Loans from 1 January 2011. Go to www.studylink.govt.nz for more information on the changes. 2. Training Incentive Allowance* Work and Income also offers a Training Incentive Allowance to assist some beneficiaries to study. 3. Scholarships or Study Grants - Part or full-fee scholarships and grants can be applied for from a variety of different sources.
