The state of the art facilities provide students with the best opportunities to learn in a real life environment. Students use state of the art technical equipment to train in the travel agency office and in the hotel reception area to gain real world experience. You can train to be a chef in large modern kitchens with the best commercial equipment and industry-standard kitchen software. The kitchens are linked to commercial point of sale hardware and EITs fully licensed 60 seat training restaurant and bar, Scholars.
A wide range of short courses are available both day and evening.

Scholars Restaurant offers Hawkes Bay diners a unique restaurant experience. It allows you to not only enjoy memorable and delicious dining, but also to participate in the training of New Zealands future chefs and restaurant staff.
Scholars is open to the public from February to November. As students progress through their training, they create a range of gastronomic experiences for everyone to enjoy. Morning teas, lunches and dinners attract a regular clientele, who appreciate the tremendous effort made by the trainees to attend to every detail.
On selected Friday mornings, treat yourself to a smorgasbord of calorific delights created by the patisserie students at their coffee shop.

Counselling and Psychotherapy Clinic
Second and third year counselling and psychotherapy students provide services to the public on campus in specialist clinic rooms. The trainee counsellors and therapists are supervised by lecturers. The first two consultations are free and then the cost is $20 per session. For an appointment phone (06) 974 8922.
Video and Electronic Media Facilities
The programme is now running in its purpose built training facility on the Taradale campus.
Two large sound proofed studios with surrounding equipment and set storage rooms. Dedicated video and audio editing suites, including a 5.1 surround sound mixing room.
The facility is equipped with modern professional production and post-production equipment.
Production equipment includes 6 Sony DVCAM camera kits with lighting kit, dolly, jib-crane, field mixers, digital radio microphones and shotgun mics.
Post production suites run Avid, Media 100 and Final Cut Studio, ProTools LE and TDM HD with automated sound-boards.
All equipment has been chosen to prepare graduates for the varied conditions they will encounter in the industry.
The facility is self contained and utilises the latest technologies to allow students secure access outside normal hours.
