This certificate's programme will teach you accounting, administration, computing, communication skills, and workplace health and safety to further your study or find employment. Because it’s EIT's business to help you study for a prosperous future.
The Certificate in Business (class based) runs for one-year full-time at EIT's Ruatoria Learning Centre and will provide you with foundation skills and knowledge directly relevant to the workplace, while building your self-confidence, so you can move into employment or further training in business-related programmes at EIT.

Having a tertiary qualification means I am more marketable in todays business climate. I hope to own my own business one day so I need to be confident in all aspects of business but I also want to be financially secure so that I can enjoy activities outside of work.
Prior to coming to New Zealand Janet lived in England and worked in management in large scale retailing, taught in a comprehensive school in Manchester and ran outdoor education programmes.
She has been in New Zealand for thirty years teaching Economics and related subjects in secondary schools and more recently at the EIT. Her passion is Economics and she has carried out research on the economic impact of sporting events in Hawke’s Bay and more recently researched into the economic way of thinking.
Our classes are relatively small with supportive teaching on a pleasant campus.
At degree level, we offer a good range of majors including Accounting, Marketing, Management and Information Systems. The School of Business is a fully accredited education provider for all three Colleges of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
