EIT Celebrates 40th Anniversary

November 3, 2015
New plaques for buildings to be displayed.

New plaques for buidlings to be displayed.

While EIT started as a community college in 1975, it’s continued to grow and develop as the needs of our region have changed.

Over 215,000 people have graduated and been able to contribute to our community or follow their dreams somewhere in the big wide world.

The EIT marae – Te Ara o Tāwhaki celebrated its 21st birthday.

Then we celebrated the 40th anniversary with founding and current staff along with invited guests.

First to See the Light, a book about EIT and the 40 years of higher education was also launched. Purchase your own copy, by contacting us or visiting our website.

The open day on Sunday was a great opportunity for our community to see behind the scenes.

There is another celebration at EIT Tairawhiti on Wednesday November 11 with the book also being launched – so the celebrations continue!
