EIT Graduates win National Titles

September 3, 2014

It’s been exciting times for us with graduates winning national titles.

You may recall that three EIT graduates made the final five in the prestigious New Zealand Young Viticulturist of the Year competition

Paul Robinson, a graduate of the Bachelor of Viticulture, has won the national title.  Paul is assistant vineyard manager for a Villa Maria Estate vineyard in the Gimblett Gravels.

This is a hat trick for EIT, with winners in 2012 and 2013 being EIT graduates.

And an EIT sparkie has also claimed a national title.

New Zealand’s Electrical Apprentice of the Year for Industrial is Rob Stockley.

Rob completed the pre-employment programme for the electrical trades.  The former Air Force man won the ECANZ Challenge of automating a conveyor system in a simulated bottling plant.

Shortly after claiming the title, Rob flew to the USA to commission a new apple packhouse in New York State.
