Seven out of the eight finalists for the Young Viticulturist of the year have studied at EIT.  The Bachelor of Viticulture and the Bachelor of Wine Science featured the most as the pathway for these finalists.

Congratulations to Paul Robinson  – he’s this year’s winner.

From the Taranaki, Paul moved to Hawke’s Bay in 2005 to study the Bachelor of Viticulture.  He worked for Maimai Creek Wines whilst studying and after graduating in 2009. He’s been at Villa Maria for almost seven years and progressed to the Assistant Vineyard Manager for both the Te Awa and Joseph Solar Vineyards.

If you’re interested in grapegrowing and winemaking – EIT offers a range of programmes that can help you get into this large industry.

Start on July 21st – you can start learning on a one year certificate or you can begin a diploma or degree.
